1. Setting

Chooses which archetype list is available. Careers stay SotB for both packs.

Shadow of the Beanstalk (Default)

Official Android setting archetypes: Natural, Bioroid, Clone, Cyborg, G-Mod, Loonie.

Night City (House Rules)

House-rule archetypes mixing Cyberpunk roles with Genesys math: Gonk, Warrior, Authority, Face, Gearhead, Mind, Cyborg. Careers still use SotB lists. Armory 001–002: extra weapon attachments, implant hard points, G-mods as ordinary implants, free Skulljack at chargen.

3. Archetype

Tap a card to select. Starting characteristics (Br / Ag / Int / Cun / Will / Pre), XP, and free skills are from the book.

4. Career

Your job defines career skills (cheaper to raise) and the free starting package. Pick four career skills for free rank 1.

Free career ranks: choose up to 4 career skills (each gets rank 1 free before XP).

5. Debt (optional favor owed)

What is debt?

In SotB character creation (Step 6), you may start owing a favor to someone in a faction — a street contact, corp, orgcrime, government, etc. In exchange you get either extra starting gear credits or extra starting XP.

None — no favor, no bonus.
Small — +₡100 of gear (always credits).
Regular — +₡500 gear or +10 starting XP.
Big — +₡1,500 gear or +20 starting XP.

The GM decides who holds the marker and when they collect. Debt is a story hook, not free power.

6. Characteristics

Raise from archetype baselines. Cost to next rating = new rating × 10 XP (e.g. 2→3 costs 30). Cap 5. Locked after finalize. Use the big ± buttons on touch screens.

7. Skills

How skills work

Dice pool = characteristic + skill ranks (extra ranks become upgrades). Career skills (marked ●) cost rank × 5 XP; non-career cost rank × 5 + 5. Free ranks from archetype / career are free floor (no XP).

Skills are grouped by category (General · Social · Combat · Knowledge · Computers), A–Z inside each. Tap a name for a short description. After finalize you may still spend earned XP on skills only.

8. Talents

Pyramid. Every row needs more talents in the row below it. One T1 talent opens nothing; two T1 open one T2 slot, and so on up.

Ranked ★. Each extra rank is bought one tier higher (Custom Rig ★2 is a T2 pick, ★3 a T3 pick). Cost = tier × 5 XP.

Tap a slot in the pyramid to see what fits there. Tap a talent name for its full writeup. After Finalize you keep buying with earned XP.

10. Gear

SotB starting wealth: either take your career package (free gear + leftover credits), or skip the package and buy with ₡1,000 + any debt credits.

Starting path

This loads your package (or sets your credit budget) and unlocks the shop below.

Credits on hand

Equipment list

Attachments (sights, plates, slings…) go on the item. Hard points are enforced when the item lists HP. Credits are not deducted — change credits on hand if you paid. Where is worn / carried / in a bag / stashed (home does not count Enc). Implants stay implanted; vehicles are not personal Enc.

Vehicles

Hoppers and groundcars live on the sheet, not in personal encumbrance. Photo URL is set on the sheet after you add one. Paid still spends credits on hand.

Buy / add catalog gear

Default is Paid (spends credits on hand). Switch to Free for gifts, loot, or GM awards — free never needs credits.

Custom gear / cyber

Any one-off item from play. Set price (0 = free). Permanent strain cost reduces Strain Threshold (cyber implants). Mark as a weapon to put it on the sheet Attacks list when equipped. Edit on a custom row in the list above loads it here.
